Before I start this review, let me just share with you - my eventful NYE celebration.
We breezed through KL traffic and got to Pavilion on record breaking time. Had dinner in a VIP room at Carlos Mexican Canteena, amidst the camaraderie of bustling party-goers, though dinner wasn't exactly gratifying. Hopped over to a friend's place, upstairs, for after-drinks while anxiously counting down to the new year. Had full blown, picturesque view of the KLCC fireworks (here's a picture), with bubblies in hand of course. Skipped our way to Butter Factory, danced, had a couple of shots, and developed odd-cravings for Kajang satay. Drove miles to Kajang, not knowing that shops closed wee-early. Dragged ourselves back to Jalan Ipoh and had dim sum at one of KL's oldest Chinese eatery. By the time we finished, it was already 5am. That pretty much sums up my welcoming of 2014.
Mr and Ms
With a waiting list in hand and surrounded by a full house of patrons, Mr and Ms is clearly one of the most crowd-pleasing breakfast hotspot at this end of town.
Like most shops in Oasis Damansara, this cafe officially opened its doors about 6 months back, serving an ambrosial array of breakfast and brunch delights.
Though enthusiastically received, it really wasn't my idea to visit Mr and Ms. I've heard far too many stories about the place - good and bad, but notably on being voted as Time Out KL's Top 10 cafes for 2013.
Beaming recognition calls for high expectations right?

Orange Juice & Apple Juice. Rm6.90.
Chilled juices were extremely diluted. I would've opt for coffee instead, if I hadn't already had two cups before I came.
Smoked Salmon with Fresh Tomato Bruschetta. Rm14.90.
A remarkably simple appetizer of two lightly toasted wholemeal bread with diced tomato, onion, basil and fresh herbs. The slice of smoked salmon with melted mozzarella was divine, but the salad was a touch too bland.
My Meaty Big Breakfast. Rm21.90.
The generously ladden breakfast platter arrived with two poached eggs on wholemeal toast, two herbed chicken sausages, two slices of turkey ham, strips of beef bacon, a serving of button mushrooms, four cherry tomatoes, a hashbrown and homemade baked beans - all neatly arranged and looking colourfully tempting like that, not bad - not bad at all.
My foray into Oasis Ara Damansara calls for a walk around the area - and pictures!
Overall Rating: 6.5/10. The breakfast was pretty good, but nothing to shout about really. What I really liked about the Oasis though, was the conceptualised restaurants up front, near the water fountains. It was calling-out-loud for another foodie-run real soon.
