Little Wonton @ TTDI KL - The Go To Wonton Place

I love wontons. Those dainty little things that only needs finger tips to be picked up, before popping it hassle-free into the mouth. My favorite part of a wanton would have to be the nicely folded, crisp and crusty edges. A pocketful of pipping hot fillings would be a definite charm too.

Little Wonton

My Saturday night food hunt brought me to Little Wanton in TTDI. A rather small establishment situated on the second floor, same row as the infamous Artisans Coffee House

Like the name suggest, Little Wanton is popular for its air fried wontons. Some sweet - some savory, but most importantly, all of it is air fried. Hence, you get that crisp and toothsome wonton, minus the nasty oily residue. I heard the charcoal noodles is also must-have here.

I was there with gardennom that evening to sample some of Little Wonton's goodies.

Mushroom Onion Cheese. Rm7.90.

Priced at Rm7.90 per bucket of 6 wontons, I thought - please make this be good. Can't deny that these aren't exactly the cheapest wontons around. One bite and my smile slowly turned into a wide grin - it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly crisp with ample fillings and flavors that was a sensation on every mouthful. Tip: Eat it while it's still hot!

Banana Peanut Butter. Rm7.90.

The ones with the sugar dusting on top are the sweet versions - or banana peanut butter in this case. And everyone knows that banana and peanut butter are match made in heaven right?

Charcoal Noodles. Rm6.90.

One look and you wouldn't be able to tell from this from that. Both came with a handful of corn and green onions, slices of chicken and half an egg. Rest assured though, I've got it covered - after some swirl and stir.

Korean Sweet and Spicy. Rm6.90.

This bowl of noodles were served cold and drenched in chili oil beneath. For those needing an extra oomph, add a spoonful of dried chili and garlic flakes from the counter. Those were fiery but seriously addictive.

Creamy Roasted Sesame. Rm6.90.

If I were to choose between this and the former, I would pick this. Charcoal noodles in creamy sauce made fragrant by bits of garlic and roasted sesame oil. This reminded me a little of carbonara but a much more toned down version. It was delectable.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10. Loved the golden brown wantons; liked the charcoal noodles - but mostly the wantons. Both the sweet and savory wontons we ordered were fabulous. It was worth every penny spend. The charcoal noodles - not a huge fan, but it was a pretty decent carb-condiment to have at the side.
