Cristallo
The first time I was here, I had a fun night out at the Luna Bar. A few months back, I dropped by Soi 23 to sample their new menu items. But tonight, I will be bringing you to one of the most romantic restaurants to have dinner in town, Cristello di Luna, a Western-fusion restaurant. All are part of Pacific Regency Hotel.
For take home options - Whole roasted chicken (Rm380++) and Half roasted chicken (Rm180++). Do order 3 days in advance. Scroll down for contact details.
Overall Rating: 6.5/10. The face behind all of this is none other than Chef Eddie Yap, who also take charge of the menu in Soi 23. The organic capon chicken I had tonight was fantastic - tender, juicy and very well roasted meat, definitely a much healthier and scrumptious alternative to the conventional chicken. The giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, braised cabbage and chestnut stuffing were equally gratifying. However, apart from the chicken, I will not be able to provide a comprehensive verdict for this year's Christmas buffet spread, as I did not sample the rest of the dishes.

Dal.Komm Coffee Malaysia
Peering blankly through the then fuzzy glass panels; watching the sights of rain drizzling from the dark sky; seated comfortably on a leather chair indoors; while lingering over a massive cup of shaved ice.
That's my kind of Saturday night.
닫기 Dal Komm, means sweet in Korean, recently opened its first franchise in Malaysia, at the ever bustling Damansara Uptown. I was told that 2AM, the Korean boy band was here to officiate the launch, though I doubt they created as much buzz compared to Caffebene, when they opened in Sunway Pyramid with Lee Kwang Soo in tow - I can't help myself but make comparisons.
Being the first time here, I was spoilt for choices, I really didn't know what order. There's several grapefruit offerings in their menu - drinks and bingsu, of which both looked equally enticing. In the end, I settled with the Grapefruit Bingsu (Rm12.90) and Apple Crumble Bingsu (Rm15.90).
Overall Rating: 7.5/10. Dal.Komm Coffee vs Caffebene. There are many similarities with Dalkomm and Caffebene, another notable Korean dessert place. Price wise - Dalkomm's bingsu is more expensive at Rm12.90 onwards, compared to Caffebene at Rm10.80. Menu wise - Dalkomm offers a better variety of drinks and Caffebene offers more food, notably waffles and the infamous honey toasts. Bingsu wise - for me, Dalkomm felt lighter compared to Caffebene. In other words, Dalkomm uses more fruits and tarts, whereas Caffebene has more whipped cream and red bean in its bingsu. Both uses flavored shaved ice and really - the ice is not as refined as it looks.
On tonight's sampling - if you're looking something light and refreshing, go for the grapefruit bingsu. If you're looking for a heavier sweet treat, go for the apple crumble bingsu. Both of which I would recommend. I have yet to try out their toasts, I will definitely be back for some. I still don't get the sound blending thing nor the coffee-thing - I really don't see many ordering coffee here.
Withal, somehow, my preference still lean towards Caffebene, probably because I'm a green tea ice cream and oreo person.
