The Kitchen Table @ Damansara Kim PJ - Great Cakes

I had a great four-day break. Spending most of my free time lazing around watching youtube videos, catching up with friends over food of course, but mostly sleeping - too much of it in fact.

The Kitchen Table

It was a Tuesday afternoon. The last of the four day break. I stumbled into The Kitchen Table feeling a little blue. I mean, the longer the break, the bluer it gets right?

The Kitchen Table is a photographer's paradise. Loads of natural lightning shining through, clean and white minimalist interior, round and wooden communal tables and those mismatched kitchenware, really felt as though I was having lunch at someone's kitchen.

There are two menus here - the Day Menu and the Dinner Menu, and what you see below is The Kitchen Table's Day-time Menu.

Cleanse Tea (Rm9). Ginger & Manuka Honey Tea (Rm9).

Pukka - that's a first. I later found out that it is an organic herbal tea that originates from the UK.

Pulled Pork with Sourdough. Rm12.50.

One word - tangy. There are essentially three elements on the plate - crusty sourdough bread, carrot and beetroot in vinegar dressing, tender pulled pork topped with a mint, cilantro and gula melaka chutney.

Scrambled Eggs with Sourdough Toast. Rm9.90.

I reckon gula melaka is one of their favorite ingredient here - tomato and gula melaka jam, which I felt had a hint of spiciness to it, but blends incredibly well with scrambled eggs.

New York Cheesecake. Rm12.90.

Gorgeous-looking cheesecake that has melt in the mouth textures. This could get really rich halfway through, so please share! Will try the much talked about carrot cake next time.

We went to an ice cream parlor and had an ice cream feast after that.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10. A seemingly simple cafe with a simple menu at affordable prices. My friend really enjoyed her scrambled eggs dish but I couldn't bring myself to finish the plate of pulled pork - the supposed best seller of their brunch menu felt a tad too tangy halfway through. Midway through my meal, I started to feel a little uneasy, too much natural lighting perhaps, plus, the place could get a little warm during mid-noon. Nevertheless, if you're opting for some light-eats for brunch or some cakes for desserts, this neighborhood cafe would do you well.
