The Shore Shopping Gallery @ Malacca River Grand Opening

My short trip to Melaka came marvelously eventful this time round. I was there just last weekend to catch the official opening of The Shore Shopping Gallery at Malacca River. And I'm super psyched to tell you all about it!

The Shore Shopping Gallery spans over 4 levels, 100 lifestyle stores and is occupied with 3 major anchor tenants - TANGS, Lot 10 Hutong Food Gallery and The Shore Oceanarium - the World's longest aquarium tunnel and coral reef connected to a mall. You wouldn't want to miss that!

Families with kids - you are in for a treat. 

One of the best feature of Swiss Garden would have to be the impressive pool area, at Level 9. There are 2 indoor pools and a massive outdoor fun pool, lap pool and a leisure Jacuzzi area, fully equipped with child-friendly facilities. Also housed within a glass-paneled cube overlooking the Malacca skyline, an indoor gym.

If you're keen to experience it all, take the River Cruise! The short ride flows along Melaka River and towards Jonker Street and other historical attractions. With a full-on packed evening ahead, I knew I had to leave that for some other time.

That evening, The Shore was lively and bustling, with hordes of eager onlookers waiting on the arrival of the VIPs as well as those wanting to catch a glimpse of the live drum kompang and lion dance performance.

The Grand Opening of The Shore @ Malacca River marks a milestone in Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB), a subsidiary of Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputra (YAHB), which also helms Nu Sentral in KL Central.

Officiating the launch was Melaka Chief Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Idris Haron, also present were PHB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Kamalul Arifin Othman and Kerjaya Prospek Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tee Eng Ho, who each gave their respective speeches.

The beautiful emcee of the night is none other than Daphne Iking.

The highlight of the grand launch would have to be the signing of The Shore plague by the Melaka Chief Minister.

The all-day spectacle was packed with exciting activities, including the One Millionth Shopper prize giving ceremony, RM15,000 Grand Draw Rewards Program, the Spend & Win Program, Fashion Showcase by TANGS and Sixty Three Heritage, Coloring Competition by Oceanarium, 1,000 Goodie Bags Giveaway, as well as Prizes by the Hitz.fm cruisers.

After the session finished, we rushed over to Melaka Alive for one of the most impressive Malaysian cultural performance I've seen! Can't wait to show you all the photographs!

-   The journey to The Shore @ Malacca River took approx. 2 hours (131km), from Petaling Jaya.
-   The Shore is situated about 30 minutes away from the Malacca toll booth. One way toll rates at RM16.50.
-   Distance from The Shore to Jonker Street and Chinatown is approx. 10-15 minutes drive.

-   Alternatively, take the River Cruise from the mall if you're keen to see it all.
-   The Shore Oceanarium Melaka Ticket Prices: Rm28 (Adult) Rm18 (Child/Senior Citizen). 10.30am - 9.00pm Daily.
