Another one of those cafes in which I walked out feeling truly disappointed.
Today felt like a bit of a rush. Things didn't exactly go according to timeline, I ended up having lunch at 4pm. I'm glad my stash of potato chips did me well for breakfast - best breakfast ever!
Despite the hunger, we drove around in circles, undecided on what to have for lunch - no - tea. We eventually settled with Garage51, a cafe which came highly recommended by my friends.

Awesome Garage Breakfast. Rm26.
Bagel + Salad + Ham + Garage Hashbrown Potato + Baked Macaroni + Poached Egg + Hollandaise Sauce.
The bagel was fluffy; The salad was fresh. But the overall flavors fell flat and was seriously lacking in seasoning. What I was gravely disappointed with though, was the garage hashbrown potato. It felt like a huge lump of tasteless flour, I could barely-barely taste the potato.
And where's the missing smoked chicken? Smoked chicken ham you mean? I should've asked, now the mystery will never be solved.
Penne Basil Pesto with Grilled Chicken. Rm30.
Now, this dish was slightly better in terms of flavors. The penne was done al dente and the basil flavors and seasoning was great, a little salty perhaps but not enough to deter us from polishing it all up.
The downside - it was drenched in a pool of oil. I'm sure its just olive oil but I really didn't appreciate the aftermath of an oily smudge on my lips. And for that price, I was really hoping for more chicken strips.
Chocolate Tart.
The chocolate tart came with the pasta set we ordered. This was probably the most satisfying part of our meal.
Overall Rating: 5.5/10. Now, I've previously heard great things about this cafe. I'm not saying that you shouldn't visit this cafe, because with all honesty, two dishes gone wrong is merely a crack on the tip of an iceberg. I'm sure the rest of the menu would be much more plesant than the dishes I wrongly picked today. Perhaps I came with high expectations; Maybe it was better before. I walked out feeling disappointed - my awesome garage breakfast didn't feel that awesome after all.
