A wonderful catch-up with friends, over a course of 6 whimsical hours, and a Sunday afternoon well spend.
Two Sons Bistro
The newly opened Two Sons Bistro is located right below the ever popular Red Bean Bag, dishing out a dashing array of Western-fusion dishes, with some alcohol offerings in their menu - not much, hence the bistro-part of its name. Sounds more like a restaurant to me nevertheless. Before I forget, I have to tell you about their clams!
Iced Peach Tea (Rm10). Hot Tea (Rm8). Carrot Juice (Rm11).
Clams (Starter Size). Rm22.
Heavenly, just heavenly. You'd get to pick from 16 types of soup bases and we had the zuppa vongole - chili, garlic, olive oil, sundried tomatoes. The clams had toothsome textures and the base had great flavors, made hearty on a rainy day. Comes with free flow fries or garlic broiche.
Big Breakfast Platter. Rm25.
A massive platter of breakfast goodies which we all enjoyed.
Linguine Aglio Olio. Rm20.
Let me be very honest here - I didn't enjoy this at all. Loads of improvements to be made - it could do with way more garlic infusion and flavors, more spices and seasoning, and the undercooked pasta - oh my.
Belgian Waffles. Rm18.
Beautiful medley of waffles, berries, caramel sauce and maple syrup, topped with chantilly cream. My first mouthful was a disappointment however - no texture and aroma. It must be the batter recipe! Tweak please?
Overall Rating: 6.5/10. Our meal here today were pleasant - some hits; some misses. The Big Breakfast platter was satisfying but the best part for me would have to be the clams, the winner hands down. The starter size came in a rather huge portion too, good enough to be shared between the 4 of us. I think I can have clams as my main dish. Hmm.
