Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Plus Set Review

Just when I thought that there was no hope for my enlarged and clogged pores, a new product sprung to the rescue. On that note, I thought I'd do a quick beauty shoutout on Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Plus Set, the newest product of its range.

Now, I'm sure many of you know that clogged pores would lead to inflammation of the skin and worst but not least, an acne breakout - something which I'm very prone to.

Therefore, proper exfoliation and pore minimizing have been a vital step in my skincare regime. And I've sought out some relief from Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Plus Set (RM350). The bundle comes with,

Step 1: Mary Kay TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Refine (70g) - a gentle exfoliating scrub.
Step 2: Mary Kay TimeWise® Pore Minimizer (29ml) - a pore minimizer serum.

Both the product are fragrance-free, oil-free and non-comedogenic.

Let me now start with Step 1.

Step 1: Mary Kay TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Refine

Cleanse - Exfoliate - Tone - Serum - Moisturize 

After cleansing, I gently massage the product all over my damp face, focusing on my nose and acne prone areas. The product is like a scrub, it has creamy textures, encapsulated with fine microbeads. Becareful not to put too much pressure while scrubbing, you wouldn't want to dry out the skin. Continue massaging in circular motions for about 1 minute, then rinse off with cold water.

The product is au-gentle, hence, it works fine for those with sensitive skin also.

Immediately after exfoliation, my skin felt refined - smooth, clean, yet not drying (off with the dead and dull skin cells!). It's as though I just went for a real microdermasion treatment. I also love how it gave my skin an instant glow!

Step 2: Mary Kay TimeWise® Pore Minimizer

Cleanse - Exfoliate - Tone - Serum - Moisturize

After toning, I applied a thin layer of the pore minimizer serum, which I then lightly massage for optimum absorption. This time I focused on my nose area, as well as the inner parts of my cheeks, where enlarged pores are the most evident. This step is meant to tighten and relax the skin, post exfoliation. Don't worry - it leaves no sticky residue.

The serum features a combination of botanical extracts to deliver powerful benefits to the skin, with key ingredients such as sea whip extract and evodia fruit extract. The product is suitable for all skin types and skin tones.

It was an ease applying my liquid foundation after that, especially on my nose area. It glides through easily now, leaving a smooth-finish. Also, my skin felt a little less oily throughout the day. You may not see immediate results, but after a few applications, you would notice shrinking pores.
