Like the title suggests, it's all about pork!
I have been wanting to drop by S.Wine eversince the opening of it's second outlet just recently, yearning to relive my expired tastebuds. My previous visit to S.Wine Publika ended pretty well, hence I'm expecting a pleasant meal here today too.
Apart from it's signage, everything seemed somewhat dissimilar compared to it's original outlet, from the interior and ambience, to the food and beverage menu. Let's see.
Swine menu and prices.
Lemongrass Pandan Tea. Rm10.
First time having lemongrass tea from a filtered jar! You have to try this!
English Breakfast Tea. Rm10.
Bacon Salted Fries. Rm12.
Wheres the real bacon? With a description like that, I couldn't help but feel slightly cheated and disappointed at the same time. On its own, the bowl of fries were nicely done, but I should have ordered the roasted potatoes instead. Bacon salt?
Porky Mac & Cheese Burger. Rm35.
Loads of flavors and textures here - tucked between two sweet broiche buns, mac and cheese patty, pulled pork, bacon and sausage - ingredients that I really liked, but put together, the onion pickles simply overpowered the burger with sourness, it reminded of saurkraut, which I'm not a huge fan of.
Spicy Bacon And Mushrooms Pasta. Rm25.
Lastly, our marvelous meal-maker. The pasta was amazing - the spaghetti cooked aglio olio style; the mushroom soaked with flavors; the spicy bacon bits came in generous chewy portions. There wasn't enough to share!
Overall Rating: 7.5/10. We didn't have much today, though clearly, my favorite would have to be the Spicy Bacon and Mushroom Pasta, which made up for the lack of luck in picking the burger and fries. There was nothing wrong with the fries really, just that I was seriously expecting a bit more. Nevertheless, I spotted some really interesting dishes in their menu, which would certainly call for second visits, and I will definitely be back for some of those dinner-time Roast Pork and BBQ Ribs.

Yes...you shud have ordered their roasted potatoes with bacon...I had them on my last visit and they were good...seems that they have substantially modified their offerings...some old favourites of mine are missing =(
ReplyDeleteYeah. I reckon the menu is slightly diff from that of the publika one too. And yes, roasted potatoes next time! =)
DeleteThat fries, u should ask the waiter where's the bacon =.="
ReplyDeleteHe would then point to the menu and say - right there - bacon salt. LOL.
DeleteHi, may I know what camera you are using for your outdoor shots?
