Lobsterman @ SS2 PJ - Way Below Expectation.

When it comes to scouting for a befitting lobster restaurant in the Klang Valley, there're simply not many places that specialised in, and to choose from.

The price for a standard grilled lobster dish would typically average at Rm150, depending on it's grade and size.

In Pince & Pints @ Bangsar KL, a 600gm American Lobster would set you back Rm158++. In Steaks & Lobsters @ Sri Hartamas KL, a 800gm American Lobster would cost RM195++.

Here at Lobsterman, you'd get to pick between 3 sizes - 550gm (Rm98), 800gm (Rm158), 900gm (Rm198). However on the day of my visit, they were only left with the 900gm one, and I had it done charbroiled style.

Looks like things didn't exactly get off to a great start.

Fresh Carrot Juice (Rm10). Hot Jasmine Tea (Rm6).

Things just went down hill from there. For me, the Lobster Bisque (Rm20) tasted like an average bowl of lobster soup. It didn't have that intense sweetness I was really looking forward to.

I've had my fair share of Charbroiled Grill Lobsters (Rm198) in the past, and this was sadly, a disappointment. The lobster was fresh no doubt, but it was seriously lacking in crustacean flavors. Moreover, I felt that it also came slightly overcooked. To top that off, that one-third of a corn and coleslaw, didn't do much justice to the overall dish either. Is it just me or am I on an unlucky food streak that evening?

Overall Rating: 5/10. I have heard a handful of things about this legendary lobster restaurant (founded in 2001!), though many of which were on it's deteriorating quality. Looks like my plan to try new things didn't turn out so well this time round.
