In the past year or so, we saw a handful of new Korean Restaurants sprouting up in town, be it at the ever-congested Subang Jaya square, or out and about the Klang Valley. Trust me when I say that the Korean wave is here to stay.
Hence, like the title suggests, in this food post, I will be highlighting some of the more popular, and newer Korean Restaurants in Subang Jaya, in chronological order of my favorites.
Here goes.
SHINMAPO
The wait was insane. To be honest, I don't think I've ever waited that long for food, and I would clearly be disappointed if it'd didn't lived up to it's expectations. Plus, on hindsight, it felt as though the restaurant really wasn't utilizing their space appropriately. There were empty tables outside that serves no purpose at all.
Having started off my review on a sliding note, Shinmapo was my favorite of the lots.

Overall Rating
8/10. Despite the unreasonable waiting time (also because they were very new when I visited), I thought that Shinmapo was worth the hype. The barbecued meats came very well marinated and the volcano fried rice added an interesting touch to the overall meal. In terms of price, I felt that my meal here was value for money, in comparison with the rest.

CHICKEN UP
My Korean feast was a rather bountiful one. Me and my friends were quite unanimous on our favorites (some good; some so-so). Tip: Choose a table indoors. I was seated outdoors and was literally sweating buckets. Bump up the air conditioning please! I didn't have much choice however, the lighting were far better for photography outdoors. I guess I'd have to give and take.

7.5/10. Forget about the sharing hotplate and stick to the chicken please! The seafood pancakes too for that matter - it was delicious.

OUTDARK MALAYSIA
Outdark would probably be the newest addition to hit this list, at just slightly over a months old while this was written. What I really liked about the place? The warm and cozy environment.

Overall Rating
7/10. The most entertaining part of my meal here would probably be the pulling and twirling of the fluffy and gooey cheese. I felt that Outdark carries the best cheese-based dish, of all that has been featured in this food post. Having said that, in terms of Korean Fried Chicken, for me, I reckoned Chicken Up does it better.

OMAYA
OMAYA's 春川炒鸡 opening in Subang Jaya, stirred up plenty of hype among the Korean food enthusiasts, including myself. There's usually a long waiting list, tables are fairly limited, and spaces are scarce. Be prepared to wait, especially during peak dining hours.

7/10. For me, Omaya would probably be the most expensive one of the lot. Having said that, there were more substance to what I had here (more meat; more seafood). Eat at your own cost.

After all of that, I have to admit that I'm still not a huge fan of hotplate platters - maybe it's the combination of ingredients that goes on it, or maybe it's just my ill-preference towards cheese. On the other hand, my hunt for the best Korean fried chicken in PJ and KL continues.
Lastly, as time goes on and as more new Korean Restaurants open up in Malaysian shores, rest assured that I will be adding on to the list of those I have already conquered.
