Fuzio Bar & Restorante

My demanding quest for dinner time pleasures brought me to Fuzio that late evening.

Down the road, Changkat was pumping as usual, the dinner crowd was just settling in. But I was glad I didn't have to go through the havoc because what I really wanted that evening, was an unperturbed Italian meal with a few friends, during which we seemed to talked about nothing else but food.

At Fuzio, I was greeted by smiles at the door alongside a comfortable and dimly-lit room, which further reassured me that dinner was going to be just great.

While waiting for dinner to be served, we had drinks by the bar - the night felt young. The Frankenstein came highly recommended, consisting of two distinct layers - red wine on top and a clever concoction of rum, vodka, tequila, gin and limoncello at the bottom. No stirring was required.

Pink Panty on the other hand, felt more like a ladies drink, with vodka and cranberry juice as base. We also ordered a Fuzio Cooler, which tasted like virgin mojito and a Fruit Punch, to be brought back to the table.

The Frankenstein (Rm58). Pink Panty (Rm32).
Fuzio Cooler (Rm16). Fruit Punch (Rm16).

Before we knew it, our attention was immediately diverted when our server delivered a feast for the eyes.

Fuzio Antipasti. Rm148.

A gorgeous platter of antipasti combined beautifully. Let's see, which should I have first? There're 8 types of appetizer on the platter - cecina ham, smoked duck breast, homemade lamb salsiccia (sausage), salmon carpaccio, tomato caprese, eggplant involtini, tomato bruschetta and cheeses.

My pick? Smoked duck breast, lamb salsiccia and tomato bruschetta. Delicious. A platter for 2 is priced at Rm88.

Grilled Beef Tenderloin. Rm98.

The grilled angus beef tenderloin was perfectly done with melt in the mouth textures and bloody inside. I really liked the mushroom cartoccio too. It was bursting with flavors, served in an oven baked bag at the side.

Grilled Lamb Rack. Rm76.

Grilled lamb cutlets doused in teriyaki sauce which had deceptively rich and bold flavors. This was a pleasure to devour though it really didn't need the extra goats cheese on top. It was good on its own!

Baked Cod Fish. Rm88.

Possibly the best cod I've had! The white cod was a teriffic showcase of fresh and sweet flavors. The flesh was moist not firm, paired with pesto mashed potato, grilled vegetables and deep fried leek. The combination of flavors and textures worked wonderfully.

Pappardelle With Rabbit Ragout. Rm42.

Imagine: chicken but with tuna-like textures, at least that's how the rabbit in this dish tasted like to me. Served in rich tomato sauce and parppardelle pasta, this was my least favorite of the meal but we finished it nevertheless.

Funghi. Rm32.

We also shared a funghi pizza that came with thinly sliced button mushrooms, generously drizzled in truffle oil. Delicious. What would make it even better - an assortment of mushrooms and more mozarella please!

Panna Cotta With Mixed Berries Sauce. Rm24.

The panna cotta wasn't as jelly-like as I was expecting it to be, but thicker instead, and I really liked it. Sitting delicately on a pool of light berries sauce and a huge strawberry plopped at the side.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10. The Italian meal I had that evening was delicious, especially the Baked Cod Fish - it was unforgettable. I really enjoyed the Grilled Angus, Funghi Pizza and of course the Antipasti Platter, which I thought would be great for sharing. For those who're keen on a wine pairing meal, Fuzio also offers an extensive range of liquor and wine - please ask. Apart from that, service was attentive, ambience was composed and the food - teriffic. I would definitely be back.
